SUPER series 2 is available until 11:59 PM PST tonight, then they are gone for good.
If you buy two, I will throw in a SUPER Krang for free. My personal fave.

I love Mike Mitchell SO MUCH; discovering his work has been a joy, but not nearly as nice as discovering him as a human being. He’s made me reconsider how popular culture can inform art and image-making in a way that transcends ideas of fanart or appropriation. ANYway he has a new series of prints out. More info here.

DEATH RATTLE (UPDATED)  This is the final.

Sam just listed this thing as a new print, and whoa nellie. If you’re not already deep into Sam’s work, or Once Upon A Time in the West, this is a great reason to bellyflop into one or both.

My friend and yours Mike Mitchell has a lot of talents, but he’s particularly good at revisiting iconic images—or even just clothes—in a way that’s respectful and gently mocking at the same time. His current series of “SUPER” prints, modeled after the classic Superman pose, is available until midnight tonight (December 4th 2012) as a grab bag. I have some of Mike’s prints, enough actually that it’s starting to get a little creepy. Mike’s shop is here, and his Tumblr is here.

Puno’s Art for Babies

Everyone’s all cray cray for babies. Even Puno is making Art for Babies. (etsy link)

"Research shows that high contrast graphics improve baby’s early recognition. Infants prefer to look at high contrast edges and patterns. Adult eyes can distinguish millions of different shades of
light & color, while baby’s eyes can only detect large contrasts between light & dark. Black and white patterns are the easiest for newborns and young infants to see.”

Happy Halloween from Cloudy Collection! It’s a big week for us: we’ve just launched Hanging with the Dead (a 5”x7” letterpress edition), we put it onto a brand new website, and this Friday, we’re going to look at this new set, plus another new set, and all ten of the earlier editions on the walls of Pink Hobo Gallery in Minneapolis. That’s about 100 prints by 80 different artists from around the world!
Thank you all for helping make the project such a huge success! And remember: wash the zombie guts off your hands before handling your new print set.
P.S. Look at those “Dead” artists: Sam Bosma, Emily Carroll, Michael DeForge, Michael Slack, Natasha Allegri, Steve Wolfhard - are you kidding me? So good!

Tad Carpenter sells screen prints silkscreened onto pieces of wood. Some, like this big 2’ x 4’ whale would look pretty great hanging in a kids’ bedroom.

You know who’s a smart cookie? Illustrator Meg Hunt, that’s who. Artists, take notes:
…I’ve decided to put together Print Club, a tiered membership offering that will give fans the prints they love before anybody else! Alpha-Level members get four prints (prints to be released will be either screenprint or letterpress, depending on what I fancy to make), Beta-Level members get two, and Gamma-Level supporters get one print of their choice. The process is simple- sign up for a membership and you’ll get put on a secret Print Club mailing list. A week before prints are announced to the public, Print Clubbers will get an email announcement sharing new prints. Respond back and choose the prints you want, and you’ll get them mailed out right away.

Roxie Vizcarra's work is so good I cussed when I landed on her site. Every piece is gold (though some of it is NSFW, ye be warned). She's got some great prints too.

Having grown up in Evanston, Ryan Kapp’s print of a typical nighttime in next-door Skokie, IL, takes me back to drives to O’Hare, trips out to Old Orchard mall, and visits to my friends’ houses in high school. We used to count these single-story homes like Sesame Street’s Count: “One Skokie bungalo! AH-ah-ah-ahhhh! Two! TWO Skokie bungaloes! AH-ah-ah-ahhhh!” [thunder and lightning!]
It turns out, Ryan has a bunch more gorgeous prints and paintings in his portfolio as well.
