Como ya comenté en otra entrada del blog, tengo previsto ilustrar unos cuentos de Scott Fitzgerald. He andado atascado una temporada porque no tenía muy claro qué técnica utilizar. Quería tener originales, así que he estado probando con mis viejos materiales, tinta, acuarelas y goache. Al final, por razones prácticas, voy a optar por una mezcla de lo digital y lo analógico, como se ve en la imagen.

At last, I have decided what technique I’ll be using for my take on Scott Fitzgerald tales. A mix of analogic (ink and watercolor shadows) and digital (color).

Yep, I hear ya. It takes patience to peel some of these layers away from the city. Vancouver has an awkwardness and aloofness and… something… it’s hard to nail down. But I must say Takohako really gets it in this strip, and is also smart enough to know there’s more going on, and that it may take time.
Just remember, on some days that weirdness suddenly melts away, and it’s like you’re momentarily in one of the most amazing places ever. The city is young and very shy, and you have to coax it to come out of its shell sometimes.
