Made a little something for my wife.
Yup! That’s awesome! Get into the spirit of the season by reading about some seasonal spirits, from Chuck Groenink.
Halloween-zine!
(that rhymes)I had some moments this week to draw some not work related stuff, so I decided to make a little zine for Halloween. It has 6 pages of drawings, a comic and a terrific recipe for pumpkin cookies!
You can fold the whole thing out into a 11 by 17 inch poster too! It’s super cheap as well, did I mention that?
So order it here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/83894721/what-fearful-pranks-ensue-a-halloween?ref=pr_shop
The Dark Crystal is still one of my favorite movies ever. I love this take on the Gelfling, Jen, by Chuck Groenink.
My painting for Galley Nucleus’ upcoming Jim Henson tribute show. It is of course Jen from The Dark Crystal, a film that made a huge impact on me when I was just a wee one. After I saw it on tv at my grandma’s house on a weekend in 1994 I drew nothing but strange monsters and weird beings and maps of the lands they lived in for months.
Oh man! I love finding people I didn’t know about who are totally awesome! Sergio Membrillas is an illustrator in Valencia, Spain, and his work has a wonderful analog scratchiness softening its harder-edged digital marks. It’s tinged with flavors of some of my favorite contemporary illustrators like Chuck Groenink, Nate Williams, and Drawn’s own Matt Forsythe, but the mixture is all his own.
